Wet Cupping

Wet Cupping is applied to certain acupuncture points as well as to parts of the body that have been affected by pain, where the pain is deeper than the tissues to be pulled. Cupping has greater emphasis on the back acupuncture due to the ease with which it can be performed on the back.

Acupressure

Ancient Greeks and Persians found cure for various illnesses just by touching the patient's hands. This art of healing, known as Acupressure is done by gradually stimulating the body's self curative abilities. Acupuncture and Acupressure use the same pressure points and meridians, but acupuncture employs needles whereas acupressure uses gentle to firm finger pressure. When these points are stimulated, they release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood, help secrete hormones and enhance the body's life force energy to aid healing.

Gusha Therapy

Guasha is a healing technique of traditional East Asian medicine. Sometimes called coining, spooning or scraping, Gua sha is defined as instrument-assisted unidirectional press-stroking of a lubricated area of the body surface to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’ representing extravasation of blood in the subcutis. Modern research shows Gua sha produces an anti-inflammatory and immune protective effect that persists for days following a single Gua sha treatment. This accounts for its effect on pain, stiffness, fever, chill, cough, wheeze, nausea and vomiting etc., and why Guasha is effective in acute and chronic internal organ disorders including liver inflammation in hepatitis.

Cupping

Cupping, popularly known as Hijama in the Arab world, is a safe, minimally invasive and economical way of curing and preventing many diseases. The word “Hijama” means drawing out in Arabic.

In this non surgical procedure, toxic or bad blood is drawn out from the body through epidermal incisions. Cupping can treat a list of conditions including generalized fatigue, irregular menstruation, infertility, obesity, as well as boost your immunity and enhance blood circulation throughout the body. As blood circulation is increased, arterial diseases, cardiac problems and age related changes such as dark spots and wrinkles can also be treated.

From swimmers to gymnasts, many are being spotted with temporary red marks which are formed through a session of cupping. World famous Michael Phelps, who represented the US team at Rio Olympics 216 and Gymnasts Alex Naddour declared in USA Today that “Cupping was better than any money I have spent on anything else.”

Cupping has been noted in the traditions of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) as he has performed it and encouraged others to do for health benefts.

Quoted from one of his sayings “The best medicine with which you treat yourselves is cupping.”
( Al-Bukhari: 5371)

Buddhist medicine has maintained that cupping can help unblock the channels that carry the vital energy(Qi), thus contributing to rejuvenation, revitalization and regeneration of worn and tired bodily tissues. (Iikay Z Chirali)

This method of controlled blood letting is approved in UK, USA, Poland, Greece, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, Japan and now in India .
